The License Agreement is an agreement between the author or depositor of the study and the ADP as its caretaker. The main elements of the License Agreement are:
By signing the License Agreement you authorize the ADP to store and disseminate the study to other users. By depositing data to the ADP your copyright over study materials is retained. The users of your study are required to cite you as the author of the study in their publication. In addition, you remain the full owner of the data.
By signing the License Agreement you assure that the data files are anonymised, which at the minimal criteria means that all direct identifiers of individuals or other units are removed from the data file. The ADP saves the received data files as they were received from the depositor, however during the process of inspection the files are re-evaluated in terms of possibilities of identifying individuals. If necessary, the variables that are problematic are deleted or transformed and all the changes are included in the final data file version that is intended for final users.
The ADP enables access to data under the license of your choice. We provide two different licenses under the "Creative Commons" Licenses, where you can get more information on the general problem of assigning copyright for accessing materials. Both of the versions include the possibility to adapt materials, the requirement of citation and giving access to adaptations under same conditions. The difference between them lies in the enabled or disabled option of using data for commercial purposes.
The License Agreement includes a paragraph that defines the possibility to access data only for users that are registered at the ADP and who oblige to respect ethical standards of dealing with data. Each user individually obliges to care for the protection of confidentiality of data in terms of disabling the possibility to identify individuals.
