HOW TO GET TO LJUBLJANA
NOTE: Instead of landing in Brnik - Ljubljana Airport, you can use one of the airports in neighbouring countries (where some of low cost airlines land), like Trieste Airport (IT), Venice Airport Treviso (IT), Venice Marco Polo Airport (IT), Klagenfurt Airport (A), Zagreb Airport (HR). HOW TO GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE LJUBLJANA MAIN BUS STATION/RAILWAY STATION
A bus, taxi or shuttle can get you to or from the airport in about half an hour.
Note that shuttle services like Markun can drop you off / and
pick you up in different parts of Ljubljana. Also close to the hotel, where you will be staying. Please
mention where you would like to be dropped off at the reservation of the transfer.
HOW TO GET FROM THE MAIN BUS STATION/RAILWAY STATION TO THE FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES
From the Railway station Ljubljana/Main bus station Ljubljana go to the bus stop Bavarski dvor. It will take you only 6 minutes (450 m) by foot to reach it (see directions). The bus that will get you to the Faculty of Social Sciences is numbered with 6, 8 or 11 (price = €1,20 per ride). Get off on the bus stop Mercator and continue on foot for 260 m (see directions).
NOTE:
City buses have electronic payment system based on no-contact smart card called Urbana. Urbana cards are electronic ticket carriers.
URBANA value card (yellow) is without a name of the holder and is transferable. You can buy (2 EUR) and top it up with credit up to 50 EUR (at Urbanomat top-up stations, located at the bus stop Bavarski dvor, Pošta and Mercator; the lowest amount of credit is 0,05 EUR) or with transferable monthly and yearly tickets.
One ride will cost you 1,20 EUR. It is possible to use one card for several persons (10). You will just need to inform the bus driver about that.
Accommodation options
Since the deadline to book pre-reserved rooms has already passed, we suggest using the Trivago service for booking your accommodation. Please know that Ljubljana is quite busy during this time of the year, therefore we suggest you book your room at your earliest convenience.
If staying at the City Hotel:
HOW TO GET FROM THE CITY HOTEL TO THE FACULTY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES
From the City Hotel walk 600 m until you reach the city bus station Pošta. The buses that will take you to the Faculty of Social Sciences are numbered 6 and 11 (price = €1,20 per ride) (see detailed directions here). Get off on the bus stop Mercator and continue on foot for 260 m (see detailed directions here).
