Housing policy is a public intervention in the field of housing aimed at promoting economic development, preserving the population and ensuring a quality living environment. The last comprehensive survey analysis of housing provision in Slovenia was carried out in 2005 (https://doi.org/10.17898/ADP_STAN05_V1). Since then, housing provision has undergone radical changes and so have the needs and circumstances of households. The purpose of this project was to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the housing supply in Slovenia using a social science survey on a representative sample of the Slovenian population. As part of the project, a survey questionnaire was developed, which, in one part, allows for a comparison with the situation in 2005. Questions addressing current issues in the field of housing care were also added. The survey thus covers the following topics: living conditions, housing status, renovation plans, housing preferences, moving intentions, attitudes towards public rental housing, and satisfaction and values of Slovenians. Data collection for the survey took place between March 2024 and June 2024, in the form of an online survey, with the option to respond via a mailed written survey. The survey was conducted on a probability sample of adult residents. The realized sample includes 2114 persons.
Research was conducted by researchers from Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana and Urban Planning Institute of the Republic of Slovenia.
