This online summer school, organised by the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), will give the opportunity to the participants to delve on data availability to study social policies aimed to reduce the risk of falling into poverty in the EU and their shortcomings. It will provide an overview of social investment and social protection policies, as well as a 'zoom-in' session on case studies dedicated to specific policies.
Participants will be able to present their own research during an online presentation session. Instructors will include leading experts in the field as well as policy makers. They will guide participants across the different topics through keynote speeches, lectures, group discussions, a data visualisation workshop and a final public panel discussion.
This summer school is the second out of two organised by CEPS under the Poverty and Living Conditions Pillar of InGRID-2. It targets graduate students, early-stage researchers and PhD students. Provided that priority will be given to those at early career stages, the school is also open to academics, policy practitioners and other interested users, who want to provide participants with opportunities to discuss their projects and to network with leading experts and other colleagues in the field. Selected participants are expected to share knowledge, participate actively in debates, present their research and give feedback to other participants.
The summer school will start on June 6 and end on June 11, 2021.
