Open science, research funders, and scientific journals are increasingly placing research data at the forefront. How can data be prepared for publication in a timely manner? How to preserve its qualities? What do editors and reviewers expect? How can the Social Science Data Archives (ADP) help? 

The workshop is intended for editors and reviewers of scientific journals, publishers, and data experts in the field of social sciences and humanities. The event will be interactive, and active participation is expected. Journal representatives are encouraged to bring a copy of the latest issue of their journal to use during the second part of the workshop. 

  

PROGRAMME 

 9:00–10:30 From data to publication: key steps and actors    

  1. Data sharing and publication: key concepts and conditions    
  2. Research data lifecycle within the editorial process and peer review    
  3. From the work of data stewards: collaborating with the editorial boards    
  4. How ADP can support researchers, editors and reviewers 

10:30–11:00 Break  

11:00–12:30 Workshop: practical group work    

  1. Scientific journals explored: data citations and data sharing   
  2. Research data in the process of peer review   
  3. Collaboration between ADP and editorial boards
