The Dublin Core Metadata Initiative (DCMI) annual international conference in 2018 will be co-located with the Theory and Practice of Digital Libraries (TPDL) annual international conference, and will be hosted by the University of Porto in Portugal, September 10-13, 2018.

DCMI 2018 brings together researchers, teachers, students, practitioners and developers working with metadata for a few intense days of demonstration, discussion and collaboration.

DCMI 2018 asks how metadata technologies and practices must further evolve to support open knowledge, often at scale, given current budget realities. Where do we need to innovate, and where do we need to consolidate existing good practice?
