The international project "Welfare State Futures: Our Children’s Europe", was part of the NORFACE Welfare State Futures research program, between 2015 and 2018. In addition to Slovenia, Denmark, Germany, Norway and the United Kingdom (project coordinator) also participated in the project. The aim of the international project was to study the values and attitudes of people regarding the priorities of the welfare state in the future and to compare the attitudes of individuals from countries belonging to different types of welfare states. The project focuses on people's views on the future development of the welfare state and its priorities, specifically addressing issues of solidarity and potential cracks in solidarity between different social groups. It presents people's views on issues of social inequality, intergenerational solidarity, gender equality, and the direction of social policies that should address these issues. In addition, it deals with the issue of merit and the criteria used by individuals in determining priority groups and the various conditions for individual groups that the welfare state addresses with its measures. As a method of data collection, the method of Deliberative Forum and Focus Groups was used.
