Data citation

Data published in ADP are considered a scientific publication of the research results and must be properly cited in texts and reference lists.

Analyzed data that are the basis for graphs, tables, and images should be cited both within the text and in the list of sources and literature at the end of the paper. This ensures transparency and verifiability of research work.

The same applies when an author presents research data from their own study in an article. A data publication is an independent scientific output that forms the basis of scientific analysis.

The citation of a data source should include the following information:

  • The author(s) of the research data,
  • The title of the study or the data derived from it,
  • The data repository where the data is available,
  • The year of publication of the research data in the repository,
  • A persistent identifier (in the ADP Collection, this is the DOI),
  • The version or date of data publication,
  • A link to access the data (if no persistent identifier is available).

The ADP Dataverse collection allows for easy citation of both entire studies and individual files.

Share your findings

Using data from ADP can lead to new scientific insights, such as new datasets, computer code (syntax), analytical models, scientific, professional, and other publications.

How to Share New Insights in ADP:
  • Submit new datasets to ADP for a new data publication,
  • promote your scientific publications based on ADP data,
  • write a blog about your experience using ADP data,
  • organize a lecture or webinar on using ADP data.

Start considering your promotional options during the research planning phase to effectively incorporate them into your time management.
