Povzetek:

The workshop focused on open science principles and the publication of research data through effective research data management and the use of trusted repositories.

The training focused on practical aspects of research data management and open science. Participants were introduced to key concepts such as FAIR principles, research data publication, metadata, persistent identifiers, repositories, and Research Data Management Plans (DMPs). The workshop also presented important Slovenian and international resources.

A central part of the workshop consisted of group exercises on preparing DMPs. Participants worked on describing datasets, file formats, metadata standards, storage and backup strategies, data sensitivity, sharing conditions, and repository publication plans. The second exercise focused on completing the DMP template from ARIS and addressing FAIR principles, ethical and legal requirements, documentation, licensing, and long-term preservation.

The workshop also discussed data publication at Slovene institutional and disciplinary repositories, emphasizing the importance of early communication regarding metadata, formats, licensing, and publication procedures.

The concluding discussion highlighted the benefits of open science and data archiving, including improved visibility, reproducibility, collaboration, and reuse of research data.
