The wide scale of informal sectors in post-socialist countries and high intensity of informal processes in these countries allow concluding that situation with informal economy considerably determines their further economic and social development. The seminar originates from the idea that comparison of research evidence from different post-socialist societies as well as the dialog between scientists and practitioners should contribute to better understanding the nature of informal economy and its role for economic and social transformation.
