Study is a systematic review that aims to assess (i) the characteristics of online panels that are used in survey methodology, (ii) the quality of these online panels, (iii) the characteristics of individual panel studies, and (iv) the usage of online panels as a sample source for research on survey-data quality. A whole population was included, that is all articles and chapters from books recorded in WebSM database, published from January 2012 to June 2016, with full-text written in English and containing at least one keyword (panel, probability, non-probability, nonprobability, weight, score and representativeness) within the title text. In total 74 references were included in systematic review. This 74 references mentioned 69 unique online panels and 83 empirical studies using those online panels.
