Funding bodies and scientific journals increasingly require data, which were created in publicly funded research, or underpin publications, to be open to the fullest possible extent. To provide access to high quality data to a wider research community, it is necessary to start proper research data management planning early to avoid significant further problems in the data creation and curation phases. These are the goals which CESSDA, Council of European Social Science data Archives, is trying to achieve.

ADP together with other European archives: UK Data Service, GESIS, Danish Data Archive and FORS, organizes 5 training courses for doctoral students. Events are supported by EU project FOSTER and have a common name FOSTER CESSDA training. The main purpose is to introduce doctoral students to data management and provide them with knowledge about data sharing.

Slovenia is hosting one of five events, taking place at the Faculty of Social Sciences from the 23rd to 25th of July 2015, at which two foreign invited lecturers will take part.

The course is designed for doctoral students from the field of social sciences and humanities and will be held in English.

This course is taking place at the 10th ECPR Summer School in Methods and Techniques, scheduled for July 27th - August 7th 2015, at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia.
