The International Sunbelt Social Network Conference is the official conference of the International Network for Social Network Analysis (INSNA).

Located at thet TradeWinds Island Grand Resort on the island of St. Pete Beach on the white sandy beach of Florida’s Gulf Coast., Sunbelt XXVIII will provide an interdisciplinary venue for social scientists, mathematicians, computer scientists, ethnologists, and others to present current work in the area of social networks. Workshops and conference sessions will allow individuals interested in theory, methods, or applications of social network analysis to share ideas and explore common interests.

For many reasons, only some related to recent political events, Social Networks and the network perspective have been recognized as relevant and important in a number of areas of inquiry. One consequence of this is that INSNA has grown to have over 1000 members. More people than ever are interested in attending and presenting their work at Sunbelt conferences. To accommodate a larger number (500 to 560) of papers, there will be five concurrent 20-minute paper sessions and six to eight concurrent 60-minute poster seminar sessions, beginning in the afternoon on Wednesday, January 23, and running until noon on Sunday, January 27.

The number of concurrent regular paper sessions will be kept to five, with 20-minutes for each paper. There will also be six or seven 60-minute poster seminar sessions, morning and afrernoon coffee breaks, and a lunch break an hour and forty minutes long to preserve open time for participants to engage in conversation and discussions of research strategies, results, and applications.
