The study is part of the postdoctoral project Vulnerability to Radicalisation from a Trauma Perspective and examines the relationships between traumatic experiences, social environment, identity, belonging, and vulnerability to radicalisation and political violence. The Lebanese component of the study is based on the life stories of individuals with experience of involvement in extremist groups or political violence and explores their life trajectories, experiences of violence, disengagement, and reintegration. The aim of the study is to identify factors of vulnerability and resilience and to contribute to the development of more effective trauma-informed prevention and reintegration approaches. The dataset is based on 10 interviews conducted with adults in Lebanon who have direct experience of involvement in extremist groups or political violence and who have served prison sentences for offences related to political violence or terrorism. Due to the highly sensitive nature of the research, the original interview transcripts are not available for secondary use. Instead, the interview guide, coding scheme, and a summary dataset containing anonymised information about the participants are available.
